It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Anthony Russo, age 24, on November 17, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer (DSRCT). Joseph faced his illness with remarkable resilience, grace and strength, inspiring all who knew him.
Born on August 15, 2000, in Houston, Texas, Joseph was a vibrant soul who brought light and love into the lives of those around him. He was a cherished son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend, and beacon of hope to his family and community.
Joseph was known for his kind heart, loving spirit and wittiness. He was an established commercial real estate agent in the State of Florida. Joseph was a “foodie” and had a passion for the Russo’s family restaurant business, helping others, UFC, and he embraced life with an adventurous spirit.
He is survived by his loving family, including his mother Teresa Russo; father Roger Caldwell; brothers Dane Caldwell, Gabriel Caldwell; bonus mom Mary Caldwell Sirotka; grandmothers Gabriella Russo and Martha Caldwell; aunts and uncles Anthony Russo, Andrea Russo, Jimmy Caldwell, Suzy Caldwell; cousins Anson Moore, Vincent Russo, Rocco Russo, Alice Russo, Raquel Russo,Craig Caldwell, Cole Caldwell, Emma Caldwell; and countless friends and family who will forever hold his memory close.
Joseph’s life, though far too short, was a testament to the power of love, determination, and hope. His strength and legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
A celebration of Joey’s life will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 3:00PM at St. Michael’s Catholic Church located at 1801 Sage Rd., Houston, Texas 77056. Reception immediately following at Russo’s New York Pizzeria located at 5727 Westheimer Rd., #B, Houston, Texas 77057.
