Joseph Leroy Miller Jr.

Joseph Leroy Miller, Jr., 78, known to his family, friends and collogues as Joe, passed away August 19, 2023, at his home in Katy, TX with his wife, Kathy, by his side. He was a member of Katy Community Fellowship and Katy’s First Baptist Church. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.

Joe was a devoted father and grandfather of four adult grandchildren, who was born in Corpus Christi, raised Houston, attended San Marcos Baptist Academy before graduating from Bellaire High School in 1964. Thought of as a consummate professional, Joe often told his family he was proud of his 40-year, 16-day service with the Houston Fire Department. He retired as an Engineer Operator.

Joe is survived by his wife Kathy, sons Joe L. (Jennifer) Miller III and John C. (Amanda) Miller and four adult grandchildren. Emily (Scott) Wemlinger, Joseph (Ashley and great grandson Leyton Hays) Miller, Jake Miller, Zachary Miller and two stepdaughters Robin (Don) Cashman and Kara Coleman.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents Joe L. and Orine Miller and his wife of fifty-three years, Eva L. Classen Miller and one infant grandson.

Services will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home on Thursday, August 24 from 5:00pm-8:00pm. A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 25 at 10:00am at Forest Park Cemetery. Immediately following the graveside services, the family will receive visitors at Katy Community Fellowship located at 24102 Kingsland Blvd, in Katy (approximately 11:30 am).
