Joseph P. Gonzales, 72, of Humble, Texas passed into eternal rest on June 18, 2019. He was born April 26, 1947 in "Crisol" Houston, Texas. Jose P. Gonzalez attended Brackenridge where his name was changed from Jose to Joseph and Gonzalez was changed to Gonzales with a "s" instead of a"z." At the age of 17 he had a car accident and instead of graduating, joined the Marines. He served his country from 1967 to 1970. Joseph was Journeyman, with a Masters Plumbers License and worked for a local union. Re-upholstering furniture was his passion and he was active in the American Legion and Barrio Boys.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents Pedro (Patias) G. Gonzalez and Louisa Gonzalez and siblings: Matthew A. Gonzalez, Mario Pena, Dolores G. Valadez, Anselmo P. Gonzalez, Pete Gonzalez, Jr.
Left to cherish his memories are wife Mary H. Gonzales; daughters: Cynthia Mendoza, Roxanne Bockenstedt, Michelle Gonzalez Carroll; son Samuel A. Cruz; sister Sylvia Gonzalez, brother Albert Gonzalez and 22 grandchildren.
Family will receive friends and family for visitation on Thursday, June 20, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.. Interment will be on Friday, June 21 at 11:30 a.m. with a reception following at World Faith Center, 8117 E. Northbelt, Humble, Texas 77396 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
