Josephine Youngblood of Houston Texas, 90 years old, passed away on Friday, the 18th of January 2019.
Born at home July 15, 1928 in rural area of Brazos County to Domingo Fernandez and Maria Salinas. Josephine spent her early years working on a farm. She moved to the Houston area in the early 1960’s and worked as a Quality Control Inspector at several produce and plastic companies. Josephine retired in the late 1970’s and became a full time housekeeper. She loved to garden and her greatest love was making handmade quilts.
She is preceded in death by her husband, O.C. Youngblood (December 2000) and sister, Conception Salinas Fernandez (November 1998)
Josephine is survived by son, Gabriel DeLeon of Waco, TX; daughter, Dorothy Deleon of Waco, TX; son, Billy Youngblood and wife Mary; daughter, Lillie Faye Galindo and husband Gunner; daughter, Linda Romero and husband Gilbert; daughter, Alice Mares and husband Larry; son, Adam Youngblood and wife Isidra; daughter Mary Jo Youngblood and son, David Youngblood all of Houston, TX; stepson, Russell Youngblood and wife Violet of Mineola, TX; and Stepson, Kerry Youngblood and wife Dorcie of Grand Saline, TX; 36 grandchildren, 72 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren; sister, Elvira Martinez of Waco, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
