It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our father, Jose Ramon Velez, who left us on May 14th, at the age of 76. All who knew and loved him can attest to his quick wit, wonderful sense of humor, and boisterous laugh. He cherished every moment spent with those he loved. He had a passion for building and fixing, and he could never turn down a delicious pastry or a salt shaker. Jose was a lifelong Merchant Marine, as well as a proud U.S. Air Force veteran and the ultimate Yankee fan.
Jose’s loving spirit is carried on by his daughter Vivian, son Omar (wife Lisa), granddaughters Zoe and Phoebe, and brother Edgar (wife Maritza). Preceding him in peace were his parents, Jose and Melania, and his sister, Rita.
To commemorate his remarkable life and the memories we cherish, a Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, May 22nd, at Garden Oaks Funeral Home, between the hours of 4:00-8:00 PM. (13430 Bellaire Blvd, Houston). We welcome all who knew him to join us in celebrating the life of a man who was loved deeply and will be missed immensely.
