Jose Garza

He was born in Linares, Nuevo Leon, Mexico in October 19, 1935, married to Gloria V. Ochoa in July 20, 1958 in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico. From this happy marriage there were four children born.

Jose Garza, Sr. came to Houston, Texas in September 1963. In 1965, Jose, Sr. brought his wife Gloria V. Garza, sons – Jose Jr., Gloria Yolanda, Jorge and Elizabeth. He worked as a welder for Baker Steel Company located on Moy and Allen Street near Washington Avenue. He worked for the company for over 20 years where he was well respected by all his friends and co-workers for his work ethics and leadership. In 1987 he helped Jose Jr from Tejas Electrical Enclosures Mfg., Inc. with his many years of manufacturing expertise. He worked side by side with his sons and retired at the age of 65. His proudest moment was when he and his wife became US citizens in June 1994. Lived in Houston, Texas for 44 years and moved to Danbury, Texas in 2007 where he lived the remainder of his life. The family remembers his happiest day was when he and wife celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. He enjoyed and loved family reunions. He showed all his family strength and guidance when his son Jorge passed away in 1995. There were so many memories everybody shared with Jose, Sr. that it would take days to write the obituary. Family and friends can remember Jose, Sr. always putting a smile on their faces. Jose, Sr. was very firm and discipline. People who knew him knew that one of his favorite sayings was “do it right the first time, so you don’t have to do it again!” Jose, Sr. loved all of his 9 grandchildren and adored his 11 great grandchildren. Jose Garza, Sr. will be truly missed by all. The Garza family wishes to extend a special gratitude and thanks to A-Med Community Hospice and Critical Care for the sincere care and professionalism that they gave him. We are forever grateful.

Jose is predeceased by his Miguel Garza Rubio (father), Dolores Mireles De Garza (mother), Maria Cruz Garza (sister), Guillermo Garza (brother), and Jorge Garza (son).

Son Jose Garza Jr. Wife Corina "Cookie", Daughter Christina Marie, Husband Hector Gonzalez, Sons Joseph Hector and Christopher Adam. Daughter Natalie Yvonne, Husband Oscar Renteria, Daughters, Sara Elizabeth and Mary Mercedes. Daughter Leticia Corina, Husband Michael Wayne Gonzales II, Son Michael Wayne III, daughter Victoria Corina.

Daughters Gloria Yolanda Coronado, daughter Jennifer Anne Ramirez, son David Andrew Ramirez, Jr., daughter Gabriella Isabel Ramirez, son Dominic Ethan Y'Barbo. Sons Marco Antonio Coronado Jr, Steven Edward Coronado, wife Tiffany, Son Steven Edward, Jr. and Peter Isaias. Daughter Mary Isabel Coronado, Husband Luis A. Alejo.

Daughter Elizabeth Garza, son Richard G. Trevino, daughter Lauren Elizabeth Trevino, son Christopher John Navarro, daughter Christina Elizabeth Navarro.
