Jose married Juanita Martinez Garcia aka "Janie" on October 9, 1968. Jose graduated from Jefferson High School and received his Bachelor's degree in electronics. He was an Advanced Service Assurance Technician for Western Electric, Southwestern Bell, and AT&T from the time he came back from serving his country until he retired in 2012. Jose was a member of Purple Heart Association and a distinguished member of the 16th Infantry Regiment. He was declared the 16th Infantry's Wounded Ranger for 2017 by their Governing Board and Members, and was granted and assigned the distinction of Distinguished Member of the 16th Infantry by Order of the Secretary of the Army. Jose had a passion for keeping up to date with his fellow veterans, staying current with politics and watching movies with his family.
Jose is survived by his children; Michael Garcia, Michelle Northcutt (Bobby), and Matthew Garcia, his grandchildren; Anissa, Brandon, Christian, and Lauren and his siblings; Sister Anne Garcia, MCDP, Jane Garcia Castillo, Pedro Garcia, and Elena Garcia. He is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Janie, his siblings; Sister Dominic Garcia, MCDP, Enemencio Montalvo, Ancencion M. Lleverino, and Juan Montalvo.
Family will begin receiving friends Tuesday, July 9, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A rosary service will begin at 7:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 109 N Frazier St, Conroe, TX 77301. A committal service will begin at 2:00 PM in the Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery with a reception to follow at St. Alphonsus located at 9217 East Avenue L, Houston, Texas, 77012.
