He was born May 10th, 1955, in Monterrey, Mexico, the son of late Ramiro and Sofia Cano. He is survived by his daughters Annette Torres, Bernadette Cano, Maria Moreno and his wife Melodie Carrier. Three brothers Ramiro, Eulogio, Rudy and two sisters Sofia and Theresa. With two grandchildren Emerald Casillas and Antonio Torres.
Jose was enjoying his retirement with his lovely wife. He spent his time collecting coins, reading, playing Scrabble, watching movies and was a cross word expert.
Prior to retirement he worked as a Distribution Warehouse Manager for 19 years at Hoffer Furniture. He was an incredible boss who encouraged and challenged his crew. A favorite after hours past time was enjoying a ‘cold’ beer and having a few laughs with his guys.
Jose was blessed with a big family and was rich in love. He cherished, valued and celebrated them. A favorite family past time was gathering together for ‘Maranito’ day.
A father to three girls, Jose loved his daughters very much. God knew exactly what he was doing when he blessed him with three daughters. They each shared a unique relationship with him. And he will forever live in their hearts.
Blessed with Melodie, Jose often described their love as the Greatest love of all. He always knew it was right where he wanted to be. Melodie, will miss her lover (as he affectionately called her) but is clinging to the 17 years they spent together.
His grandkids were another joy in his life; Emerald and Antonio simply adore their ‘Grandpa Joe’. Emerald’s spirit was connected to him and he would always tell her how proud he was of her. She loved talking to him about scary movies. Antonio’s favorite game to play with his Grandpa was Zelda they would play for hours. It was fun to watch them make each other laugh, the two of them, always cracking jokes.
So it is through tears we move forward in the Hope of Resurrection and the joy of seeing him again. Jose a loving Son, Husband, Father, Brother, Friend has left us with each other and we take comfort in that.
