Jorge Banuelos

Jorge J. Bañuelos Sr., 77, peacefully entered eternal rest in Heaven on July 29, 2020. He was a loving husband, nurturing father, grandfather, great-grandfather, caring brother, devoted uncle and loyal friend. Jorge was born in, Tepechitlán, Zacatecas, Mexico November 2, 1942.

He married the love of his life, Rose Bañuelos, on September 14, 1964. He was a devoted husband for 54 years.

Jorge often stated that when he went on to Heaven, he wanted those he loved to be happy and celebrate. Jorge enjoyed being around people at parties and family gatherings. He was an amazing dancer and the life of every party. You could not help but enjoy his energy and watch him dominate the dance floor. Jorge made a personal connection with everyone he met. He loved to travel to many destinations, such as Europe, Japan, China and South America. Jorge especially enjoyed spending time with his family in Mexico.

He was passionate about his work. He believed in hard work and had many sayings. He often said, “it was not a sin to be poor, but it was a sin not to better yourself.” Jorge was a passionate, positive and ambitious man who offered business advice to anyone who asked.

Jorge was well known and respected in the Houston community. He was a past President of the Lion’s Club, Comité Patriótico Mexicano and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was owner of A-1 B&B Western Wear for over 25 years.

Jorge is survived by his wife, Rose Bañuelos, children- Marta Bañuelos, Anna Bañuelos, Jorge Bañuelos II, and Jorge Bañuelos III; 4 sisters- Lupe Gonzales Rivera, Franchesca Bañuelos, Alicia Proo, Maria Del Rosario Bañuelos Padua; brother- Salvador Bañuelos; numerous brothers and sisters in law, nephews, and nieces.

Mass will be held on Wednesday August 12, 2020 at 10:30 am, Guadalupe Catholic Church at 2405 Navigation Blvd, Houston, Texas. (Masks are required)
