Jonathan David Kirk

Jonathan David Kirk was born Thursday, November 4, 1971 at Memorial Hospital in Lake Charles, Louisiana to parents, Joe and Linda Kirk, currently of Peason, Louisiana. He passed away in Houston, Texas on Monday, April 14, 2014, at the age of 42.

Jonathan attended school in Westlake, Louisiana and graduated from North Harford High School in Jarrettsville, Maryland. For two years he attended Kansas City Kansas Junior College on a baseball scholarship. Jonathan continued college and playing baseball at the University of North Carolina Charlotte, receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree. Upon graduating, he attended I.T. school and received his Microsoft Systems Engineers Designation. For the past twenty years, he has worked in computer related jobs.

Jonathan was a member of Houston’s First Baptist Church and was active in missions and celebrations.

Jonathan is survived by his parents, Joe and Linda Kirk of Florien, LA; uncle, Jerry Kirk and wife Ari of Moss Bluff, LA; uncle, Jerry Thomason and wife Beverly of Reeves, LA; aunt, Selma Kirk of Westlake, LA; uncle, Jack Morrison of Huntington, WV; a host of cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Woodrow and Hazel Thomason, Jeff Davis and Laverna Belle Kirk; uncles, Randolph and Joe Thomason, Billy Ray Kirk, Norman Terrell, and by aunts, Jean Morrison and Evelyn Sue Kirk.

Funeral services will begin at 1:30pm on Thursday, April 17, 2014, in the chapel of Houston’s First Baptist, 7401 Katy Freeway 77024, (713) 681-8000.

Graveside services and interment, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home in Many, Louisiana, will be 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 18, at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Florien, Sabine Parish, Louisiana, with Reverend H.B. Coburn officiating.
