Johnny Joe Salazar Sr., also known as Uncle George, age 61, of Porter, Texas passed away on Friday, April 23, 2021. Johnny was born November 13, 1959 in Houston Texas. He attended MacArthur Senior High School and later earned his GED. Johnny served in the U.S. Army. He worked very hard over the years at Azrock, Special Dispatch and Pizza Inn. Johnny most recently worked as a delivery driver at Domino's Pizza for 10 years.
Johnny enjoyed the simple things in life like spending time with his grandsons, who affectionately called him Popo Johnny, and relaxing by watching his favorite shows and renting movies from RedBox. Some of his favorite shows were "Little House on the Prairie", "M*A*SH", "Gilmore Girls", and "Cheers". He took pride in his vehicles and made sure they were always spotless. He also enjoyed purchasing lottery scratch-off tickets as gifts to his mom and spending time with his cat, Manning. Johnny will be lovingly remembered for his perseverance, work ethic, soft chuckle, and teasing manner.
Johnny is survived by his mother, Theresa P. Salazar; children, Johnny Joe Salazar Jr. and Jacob Andrew Salazar; grandchildren, Jacob Andrew Salazar Jr., Joey Ray Salazar and Juliuz Joe Miguel Salazar; sisters, Terri Salazar-Rodriguez and husband, Edward Rodriguez, Diann Bustos and husband, Peter Bustos, Julie Steptoe and husband Stephen Steptoe; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Serving as pallbearers are Johnny Joe Salazar Jr., Jacob Andrew Salazar, Jacob Andrew Salazar Jr., Julian Maldonado Jr., Stephen Steptoe Jr. and Christopher Barron.
