Johnnie Faye Jones, 83, of Tarkington Texas went to her heavenly home on August 26, 2019. She was born in Saratoga, Texas on January 15, 1936. On December 21, 1951 Johnnie Faye married the love of her life, Lamar Jones. They were married for 64 years. Johnnie Faye worked in Humble Independent School District as a custodian for 37 years until she retired in 2007. She was a faithful, long time member of Houston Revival Temple Church and loved the Lord Jesus with all of her heart. She had a passion for sewing, quilting and cooking until she physically could not do those activities anymore. She also loved spending quality time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Michael Jones, Caroline Doyle (Rick Doyle), and Mary Jones Lamas (Jake Yancey); grandchildren, Catherine Burcham (Dustin Burcham), Amy Doyle, Rebekah Lamas (James Sullivan), Kelli Lamas (Bryon McDaniel), and David Lamas II; great-grandchildren, Dakota Wheeler, Preslee Sullivan, Kaycie McDaniel, and Jaxon McDaniel; sisters: Ola Mae Smith and Peggy Thornhill. She is preceded in death by her husband Lamar Jones and sons, Marty Jones and Billy Jones.
The family will receive friends for visitation Saturday, August 31, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., and a Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. in the Family Chapel at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston Texas, 77039 followed by a burial at Brookside Memorial Park.
