John Edward Zak

John was born in Warren, MI on June 10, 1949 to Thaddeus Zak and Hazel Selthoffer. He was their only son and surrounded by sisters Dianne, Dolores, Linda and Marion.

In 1984 John moved his family to Texas to afford them a better life and opportunities for himself and wife, Gail. John married Gail Zak (Anderson) in March 1976 and they had four children together, John Jr., Dana, Paul and Karl.

John is preceded in death by his parents and sister Dianne as well as his in-laws June and Ken Smith.

John's children were his achievement and his granchildren were his trophies- William Wallace Parker Jr, John Biren Zak, Simona Kate Zak-Delagarza, Paul Joseph Zak, Jr, and Logan Augustus Zak as well as his honarary grandchildren Chris & Lauren Birdwell and Anthony & Allison Hubert.

He loved participating in the family business with his sons. John was very involved in his children and grandchildrens lives and always embraced the opportunity to be with them. John also loved raising his four legged children Petie, Buster and Ginger. RJ (dog) preceded John in death and the family is sure he greeted his earthly Daddy at the gates of heaven. John had a big personality unlike anyone you ever met, a passion for cars, Harley Davidsons, fishing and being anywhere he could with his family. He discovered the Florida Keys in 2017 with Gail and fell in love with the area and has the desire to be spread among them when Gail joins him (in many years). He was cared for by Claire & Paul along with Gail and was surrounded by family up until his death.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, son John Zak Jr and his son John Biren Zak and daughter Simona Kate Zak Delagarza; daughter Dana Parker and her spouse David Birdwell and their children Chris and Lauren Birdwell and Dana's ex-husband William Parker and their son William Parker, Jr. and Anthony and Allison Hubert (niece & nephew/honorary grandchildren); Paul Zak and his wife Claire and their sons Paul Joseph Jr. and Logan Augustus Zak; Son Karl Douglas Zak; In Laws Sharon & Bill McRoberts; Douglas & Martha Anderson; Dennis Anderson; Patrick Roose and numerous nieces and nephews.
