John Earl Williams was born to Willie Field and Odessa Williams on June 9, 1954. He was the second oldest of seventeen children. John was a very devoted father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
After his retirement from Houston Brick Company, he couldn’t sit still so he became the local neighborhood mechanic until his passing. He will precede in death with his mother, Odessa; father, Willie; brother, Ricky, Ray, Donald, Mark; sisters, Sharon and Janell; son, Larry Harper; and grandson Alonzo J. Williams.
John “Red” Williams was most known for his love for his children and grandchildren. If you seen John you were bound to see one or more of his children around him. John was a man of many talents, but the talent he was most respected for was his skills as a mechanic. There was not a tool he did not have or a car he could not repair. John’s most proud moments as a mechanic was working alongside his sister and children in business at B&D Garage. If you knew John you knew he loved a good Dickie suit, which led to his nickname Dickie Boy. John lived a God fearing life and spread his love freely to all around him. There wasn’t a person he was not willing to help out in a time of need and then send them on their way with his most famous words “Let Not Thou Heart Be Troubled”. John was not the one to show his emotions to the public eye, but showed us how hard he loved and how big his heart was by all of the actions and times he showed up for his family. But if you wanted to see him turn red, talk about his kids “No Body Messes With His Kids”. We love you pops and we will all take care of YOU NOW Oh Well Then!!!!!
He leaves to cherish his children, sons, John, Jr., John (Baby J)/Keisha, DeMarquis/Tyeisha, Kerry/Dawnique, Willie, Andrew/Evelyn, Timothy, Alonzo/Christina, Derrick, Courtney and Marcus Green.
