He was born in Waco, Texas on April 17, 1941. John Joseph Taylor graduated from La Vega High School.
He was married to Carolyn Eloise Taylor for 39 years.
John had a career in the oil field as a machinist for Mercury Tool-Waco, TX, General Screw, and PGI.
He had a passion for working on old cars, going to car shows and swap meets.
He is survived by his daughter, Carolyn Short and husband Jason; son, John D. Taylor; grandchildren, Cody Burran, James Short and wife Jasmine, Joshua Short and wife Jessica; and one great grandchild, Jeremiah Short.
A visitation for John will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Earthman Resthaven, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, February 6, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, February 6, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060.
Serving as pallbearers are Jason Short, Cody Burran and Joshua Short.
