John Wesley Stegall, Sr.second of 3 children born to Felix and Oralee Stegall was born August 10, 1948. John was a native Houstonian from the 4th ward. He attended Bath Elementary and High School in the 4th ward. He worked a variety of jobs in his lifetime until his back injury placed him on permanent disability. He enjoyed music, dancing, fishing, traveling, card games, and dominoes. He was an advertent cook.
Preceded in the death are his parents Felix and Oralee Stegall, daughter Shamira Stegall, brother Kelly Stegall, and former wife Anita Stegall.
John leaves to mourn his passing sister Barbara Franklin, ex-wife Sandra Stegall, sons John Wesley Stegall II, Shedrick White, Maurice Shorter Stegall. He leaves daughter Wonna Lynn, Estella Stegall, Yvonne Stegall, 8 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. He leaves niece Kimberly Stegall, 3 nephews, Tony Stegall, Claudis Stegall, Derrick Franklin with 2 great nephews, and 3 great nieces.
