Gordo grew up in a small, but strong familybound by his Mother, Elsa Jacquez, whom he is survived by. He also leaves behind his Father, John Payne, his cherished siblings: Octavia, Johnny, Jessica, Jocelyn, and his little creation - John Jr (carried by Tarrah King), Lala (Oralia), Tias, Tios, Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephew, countless cousins, and friends.
As a young child, John was known for hiding food under the bed, and in the bed which earned him the nickname- Gordo. Gordo translated into English means Fatty. He was a mischievous little one and had a habit a playing outside without clothes on!
In his earlier years he enjoyed playing baseball, and quickly became the comedian of the family. He always found a way to bring a smile to those that loved him. As he grew older he became known for being the biggest dare devil by riding dirt bikes and horses, and marking his territory everywhere he went. If Gordo was around, he made sure you knew with his small stature, but big personality.
Gordo was full of big moods and ways. We can only smile and laugh about his singing on early mornings and waking up everyone in the house. Sometimes not knowing the words, he’d sing even louder.
Gordo will be dearly missed and cherished forever in our hearts. The family is heartbroken, yet overwhelmed by gratefulness by the outpouring of love and support by family and close friends.
Until we meet again, we will think and pray for him everyday.
