John Monroe Murray

John Monroe Murray, age 85, of Houston, Texas passed away on March 18, 2022. He was born in New Orleans, LA on October 29, 1936 to Leslie Joseph Murray and Beulah Murray. He was married to Edna Kelly Murray for 57 years.

John had a career as a Geophysicist. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Notre Dame Council 7036. And had a passion for piano, Astronomy, and baseball.

He was preceded in death by his parents Les & Billie Murray and his brother Les(Mickey) Murray.

He is survived by his wife Edna and his sons, Tim (Lisa) and Brian (Judy). John was "Gramps" to Alexander, Harrison, Mina and Ember.

A visitation for John will be held Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Chapel of Eternal Peace at Forest Park, 2454 S Dairy Ashford, Houston, TX 77077. A rosary will occur Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 1:30 PM, 2454 S Dairy Ashford, Houston, TX 77077. A funeral service will occur Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 2:00 PM, 2454 S Dairy Ashford, Houston, TX 77077. A reception will occur Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077.
