John Kent Meyer, 62, passed away on October 9, 2015 at home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Martha Edwards Meyer, sharing with her 37 years of marriage. John was born in Houston, Texas, on September 22, 1953. He was the third child, and second son of William Meyer and Nelda Ray Meyer. He graduated from St. Thomas High School. Over the years he worked as a store manager for several large brands including K-mart and Sears Hardware. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching the Houston Texans, and spending time with his family. John is survived by his wife, Martha, his children, Heather and John Meyer, his sister, De Tucker, bothers, Bill, Jerry and Rick Meyer, and his dogs Lucky, Brody and C.J. He is preceded in death by his parents William and Nelda Meyer.
