John was born to Rowell and Martha Lawson, April 20, 1946, in Houston, Texas. He graduated from Memorial High School in 1964 and he attended the University of Houston where he studied Accounting. He married the love of his life, Carolyn Horton on April 8, 1967. Together they raised 3 wonderful children: Marc Lawson, Luke Lawson & Allison Lawson Fox.
He is survived by Marc & Shellie Lawson, Allison & Chad Fox, Sonya Lawson. He also leaves to cherish his memory of his grandchildren which all lovingly call him Grumpy. In birth order: Matthew Lawson and wife Julee, Joshua Lawson and wife Jewell, Jordan Denny and husband Skyler, Carly Stuart-Micocci, Jacob Lawson, Morgan Fox, Ashleigh Fox, Lindsey Lawson, Paige Fox & Mallory Lawson and 5 great grandchildren – Faith Lawson, Anthony Lawson, John Lawson, Luke Lawson & William Lawson. His brother Bob Lawson and wife Doris.
He was preceded in death by his son Luke Lawson.
John worked as a Supply Chain Manager at Smith International for 40 years from where he retired. His hobbies and interests were playing golf with family and friends. He enjoyed working in the yard, playing 42 with his 42 group on a weekly basis. He loved traveling and organizing trips with his wife Carole as they marked these adventures off of their “Bucket List”. He was an active member at Klein United Methodist Church where he taught confirmation class from 1979 – 2016 (37 years). He volunteered his time to serve and help others in our community by mentoring young people at elementary schools and helped with before and after school activities.
A Memorial Service to honor John Lawson’s life is scheduled for February 8, 2021 at 11:00am at
