John B. Hogan was born November 30, 1944 in Mansfield, Louisiana to the parentage of the late Gentle and Annie Lane Hogan. John was baptized at Friendship Baptist Church at an early age. John graduated from DeSoto High School class of 1963. He later attended the University of Houston - Downtown where he obtained his Master's Degree. He retired from the Federal Bureau of Investigation after serving for over twenty-three years. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family.
He is preceded in death by parents, Gentle and Annie Lane Hogan; seven brothers: George Hogan, Leroy Hogan, J.D. Hogan, Gentle Hogan, Jr., Roosevelt Hogan, Willmon Hogan, Clinton Hogan; two sisters: Bertis McKinney. Two sisters: Bessie Pea and Myrtle Brown; along with Elizabeth Hogan Hudson.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Gregory R. Hogan (Dellaree); son, Terrylance Hogan; daughter Sherrita Austin-Hogan (Clifford); two granddaughters: Krenecia Hogan and Rebecca Brown and four grandsons: Roderick Thomas (Ashley), Gregory R. Hogan, Jr., Clifford and Dwayne Austin, and three great grandchildren: Kali Brown, Jackson and Jonah Thomas, one brother Luranza Hogan (Carrie) of Houston, Texas; three sisters Clotiel Pea (Mansfield, LA), Ola Hogan Shepherd (Rocky Mt., NC), Mary Polk (DeSoto, TX), special niece Linda Faye, a cousin Jennifer Hall (Raymond), two dear friend Kathy Bailey and Eloise Austin, and host of nieces, nephews, and cherished relatives and friends.
