John Edward Heid, was born September 29, 1931, in Peoria, Illinois, to John J and Elizabeth M Heid. He passed away May 23, 2015, in Houston, Texas surrounded by his loving family.
John was raised in Peoria, where he graduated from Spalding High, in the class of 1949 also known as “the 49ers.” After high school, he served our country, in the United States Army. In his time in the Army, he fought in the Korea War. John attend Bradley University, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in business administration. John retired from Kroger Company after 27 years of faithful service as a Regional Meat Merchandising Executive.
On February 7, 1959, John married the love of his life, Jacqueline Joy Heid, who preceded him in death November 3, 2012. In their 53 years of marriage John and Elizabeth raised four children, their loving daughters; Rebecca Heid- Vanness, and Kimberly Heid, and their devoted son David and Edward Heid. All four children survive to cherish their memories. John was a loving husband, devoted father, and an inspiration to all who knew him.
