Unfortunately i am just now learning of Dr Giannakis passing. John was a great Doctor and he will be truly missed. This is very heart breaking news. As many of his patients, I just found out about his passing. I want to first send his family our prayers and condolences for this heavy loss. I have known Dr.G as many of us called him since 1993 when I first met him at The Woodlands Hospital. I had the pleasure and privilege of working with him during surgical procedures. I also became one of his patients as the years went by. He was such a wonderful person to be around with. He cared about his patients as well as the surgical staff. He is and will be sorely missed. I am shocked . This morning his office called to reschedule my up coming appointment and I come to find out that Dr. Giannakis passed away. He was a great doctor my urologist for more than 18 yers. Dr. Giannakis was one of the most pleasant doctors to ever provide medical services to me.  He had a delightful, dry sense of humor, he was straightforward in his delivery of a diagnosis, and he would share some of his memories with me, which I appreciated very much.  I will miss him.

Dr. Giannakis treated my husband for prostate and urinary problems since 2017.  We just saw him in the middle of January and he was the same caring physician and wonderful person we have come to know and respect.  There was no hint he was ill.  Totally interested in my husband’s health issues at the time.  Through the years, he shared stories of his life with us, and we loved his wry sense of humor, always looking forward to seeing him once again.  We were absolutely shocked to hear he had died.  We send deepest sympathy to his family, friends and colleagues.  He will be missed.

I’m very sorry to hear this kind doctor passed. I am a nurse at MHW and he was always kind and attentive to his patients. Very kind to nursing staff. God bless his family. RIP

Dr. Giannakis took great care of me and got me through the physical and emotional trauma of my prostate cancer and subsequent prostatectomy, which happened in record time: a mere 6 weeks after my initial diagnosis. Thank you, God, for loaning us this wonderful man. He is in Your gracious hands now, Lord.

We are deeply saddened of the passing away of Dr.G.
He was an excellent, very kind and patient doctor as he treated my 
husband for his prostrate issues.We will miss him dearly. As shocking as it is for us we know that he is free of pain and resting in peace.
We pray for all his family as they mourn his loss.

I am so sorry to hear that Dr G has passed away. He treated me for my cancer back in 2009 and was truly a professional, kind and generous Doctor and Individual and I loved him as my Doctor.  He had a very special and caring way of helping my serious problem not seem so serious. He will truly be missed and may God give peace and comfort to all the family and God bless you all for your loss.

I was deeply saddened to hear that DrG passed away. I just saw him back in February and as always he is as was the most caring and compassionate doctor that I have ever been to. He always talked about his family and trips that he got to have with them. I always enjoyed our conversations and if he was going through something, you never knew it because he would be smiling. My heart goes out to his family and loved ones. May God give you peace and comfort during this time of sorrow. God Bless you all.

I first met John 20 years ago when we worked out together and shared a personal trainer. He was really strong and could run for hours without stopping. He was a God send when he diagnosed an aggressive prostate cancer in me . Within 3 days he had hand walked me through the testing and performed a flawless surgery. Fast forward to 2022 and I once again called my friend for a colon perforation doctor recommendation and within an hour he had me set up with the best specialist at Herman where I was walked through the ER and treated like royalty because of of John . Everyone at Herman loved John.   He was my guardian angel and I’m going to miss him dearly.

We are saddened in the passing of our wonderful doctor and friend.  For the many years Dr. Giannakis treated my husband and I, we are truly grateful to God.  May all of the family and friends of Dr. Giannakis be comforted during this sacred time.  He will be greatly missed.

We are so sorry to hear that Dr Giannakis has passed. He was a wonderful man and treated my husband’s bladder cancer with such care and concern. When we heard, of his passing we were crushed. Our prayers are with his family because although the loss is significant for the community, we know it’s greater for you. ♥️♥️♥️

My deepest condolences to the family of Dr. Giannakis.  He was a great doctor to me and always put me at ease with any of my health concerns.  He never indicated he was going through the same disease as me, and he had been caring for me for almost 4 years.  I was just in shock when I first heard he had passed, and it still feels like a kick in the stomach.  Just so sad to lose such a good and helpful person.  I will always remember him and be grateful to him for the way he helped me with my cancer treatment.

John was a great colleague and friend. We spent five years in training together so long ago and John was always smiling. He loved his homeland but also loved Texas. He was always devoted to his wife and family and always made them his highest priority
