Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Funeraria del Angel Funeral Home in Houston, Texas. The family welcomes friends for a time of visitation from 5pm to 9pm on Monday, February 13, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will take place in the Houston National Cemetery immediately following the Tuesday funeral service.
He proudly served his Country for 3 years in the United States Army. John loved to escape the everyday worries of the world by spending time fishing. John valued being an independent businessman and owned several businesses during his lifetime.
Left to cherish John’s memory is his wife, Blanca Cooper, his children John Cooper Jr. (and wife Paulina) of Tacoma, Washington, William (Billy) Cooper of Kent, Washington, Jessica (Cooper) Hammerbeck (and husband Andrew) of Nacogdoches, Texas, Joshua Cooper of College Station, Texas, and Marcus Cooper of Beaumont, Texas, stepdaughters, Vania Aguilar (and husband Odilon Delgadillo), Blanca Rodriguez, and Genesis Azua all of Humble, Texas, and his sister Karen Austin (and husband Bob) of Nacogdoches, Texas. John is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 2 nephews, 3 great-nephews, and 1 great-niece.
He is preceded in death by his parents Vance Cooper and Hazel (Myers) Cooper.
Serving as pall bearers will be William (Billy) Cooper, Joshua Cooper, Marcus Cooper
