Born in Michigan City, Indiana on October 4, 1953, he was the son of William Ward Collom and Katherine Edna Collom. He attended Leto High School after moving to Tampa, Florida. Moving to Houston, Texas, he started his business “Silver Service, Inc.” where he became well known for his commercial air conditioning service, keeping Houston cool!
He will be remembered for his love of family, quick wit, sports and playing poker. Spending time with family, laughing with friends and watching football/baseball were some of his favorites past times.
John is survived by his children; Crissy Collom Boggus and husband Larry, Cash Collom and wife Faith, Brian Collom and wife Antonia; sisters Donna Collom, Kay Devrell, Terri Collom and Sharon Yozman; brothers Bob Collom, Charles Collom and Dennis Peglow; grandchildren Noah Boggus, Nicolas Boggus and Eliza Beth Collom.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, April 29, 2018 at 11:00 am in The Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024.
