John was born in Dover, Ohio. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for twenty years, working as a laboratory technician. Upon his retirement from the Air Force in 1992, he continued in his profession at Smithville Regional Hospital and John’s Community Hospital.
John loved to travel the country in his Airstream trailer and touring in his Corvette. He enjoyed attending hockey games, with the Dallas Stars and Texas Stars as his favorite teams. Finding new restaurants with his wife, Carol, was a favorite pastime. Most of all, John loved to spend time with his grandchildren.
He was a truly happy person who believed that laughter was an essential part of life. John always had a smile for everyone, or a joke to brighten your day.
John was predeceased by his parents, Dr. Chester and Ruby Bennett. He is survived by his wife, Carol; children, Aaron Bennett and his wife, Christy, Macie and her husband, Kevin Gallagher, Clarissa Wells, James Wells, and Laura Wells; and grandchildren, Layla, Theron, Jacob, Joshua, Jared, Keton, Kason, Kilee.
