John B. Griffin, Jr., age 59, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2013 after a long battle with cancer. He graduated from Aldine High School in 1972. He was a Houston Police Officer for 3 years, then served 3 years honorably in the Army, and for 20 years, worked for Veritas DGC, Inc. He is survived by parents, John B. Griffin, Sr. and Dorothy Newberry Griffin; sister, Dorothy Mizell and husband Curtis; wife, Joyce Griffin; daughter, Steffanie Dawn Griffin; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be 2:30 p.m., Monday, August 26, 2013 in the Chapel of Earthman Resthaven, with Rev. Don Stephens officiating. Interment will follow at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
