John R. Arnold, husband, father, grandfather, brother, mentor & friend, was born in San Mateo, CA on May 5th, 1937. He went to meet the Lord on Christmas Eve. He was a man who touched the lives of so many, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. John always put the needs of his family first.
He graduated from USF, then pursued his master’s in science at Thunderbird School of Global Marketing, where he also learned Spanish. He was married to the love of his life, Diana, for 63 years. He loved traveling through Central America. This brought the family to live first in Mexico, then Nicaragua and finally El Salvador, where he opened numerous businesses. He was a man of great faith and a strong role model for his six children, John Patrick, Rosemary A. Tureau, David, Richard, Paul, and Danny.
In the last 10 years, one of John's greatest passions was bringing Holy Communion to the sick and elderly, together with his wife, they offered comfort and spiritual guidance. His selfless dedication to serving others was an inspiration, the way he lived his life, what he accomplished, the family he built, the legacy he created - is a model for us all.
John was a man who felt called, not only to his unwavering faith in God, but also in his commitment to keeping the family together. His favorite hobby, outside of spending time with his kids and grandkids, was taking pictures and writing a monthly Arnold Clan Newsletter that kept everyone connected and informed about the latest goings-on in their lives.
We will always remember John as a man who lived a truly remarkable life, one that was filled with adventure & ambition, and, most notably, a life that was overflowing with his love to the Catholic Faith.
He is survived by his wife Diana, 6 adult children and their wives and husband, 15 grandchildren and his sister Sue.
Rest in peace. You will always be loved and remembered.
