John Mathew Alexander, Sr., was born September 13, 1941 in Studewood, Texas. He was a twin and one of five children, to the union of Corrington and Hazel Alexander. John attended Booker T. Washington High School and joined the United States Marine Corps at the age of 17. John married the love of his life, Theresa (Page) on December 28, 1963 in Houston, Texas, and their union produced two beautiful children, Diana (Baugh) and John Jr. John proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for 26 years, achieving the rank of Master Sergeant, and retired in 1986. He also obtained his Associates degree in Automotive Technology and a fulfilling, twenty year career as an Automotive Instructor at Houston Community College - Northwest Campus. John enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, a good laugh, his dogs and most importantly, his family. John is preceded in death by his parents Corrington and Hazel Alexander and stepmother, Myrtle Jackson. He leaves to mourn and cherish his memories: wife - Theresa; daughter - Diana (Landreth); son - John Jr. (Shonikay); brothers - Eddie (Jean), James and Corrington; sister - Patricia; grandchildren - Celina, Derrick, and Zhané; great grandchildren - Xavier, Ayden, Zyelle, Shelricka and Tiffnie and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, relatives and friends.
