Johanna J. Smith

JOHANNA JOSIE (MULLA) SMITH, also lovingly called "Jo" and "Granny" age 97, of Humble, Texas passed away on Monday, December 7, 2020. Johanna was born March 10, 1923 to Angelo Mulla Sr. and Katherine Lima-Mulla.

Johanna graduated from Regan High, Houston, TX. She played the clarinet in the Elkadettes and Regan High bands. She was an avid simmer and diver, and lettered all three years of high school on the swim team.

As a Homemaker, mom and wife, she continued with swimming. She life guarded at the neighborhood pool and qualified and stayed current as a Water Safety Instructor well into her 60’s.

She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Owen Smith and sons Patrick Robert Smith and Steven Floyd Smith; brother Angelo Mulla Jr. and spouse: Margie Walker-Mulla

Left to cherish her memory are her children Michael Owen Smith and spouse Noel Strickland-Smith, Dennis Houston Smith and spouse Carol Kraft-Smith, Cathy Smith-Tiner and spouse Micky Tiner; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A graveside service for Johanna will be held Friday, December 11, 2020 at 9:00 AM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.
