Joe Silva entered the U.S. Marine Corps in 1947. He is a Veteran of the Korean War including a battle of which the Marine Corp is very proud of...It is called the Chosen Reservoir..IN FACT THOSE WHO FOUGHT THERE ARE CALLED " THE CHOSEN FEW"". We are proud to call him FAMILY.
He moved to Houston in 1955 and was employed by Continental Ham Company for 13 years.
He is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 61 years Teresa Cuellar Silva. Sister Hortencia Flores; 5 children: Doris and Husband Eddie Torres, Jerry and wife Yolanda Silva, Joe, Jr. and wife Dolores Silva, Josie Silva,and Michael Silva.
He leaves behind 19 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren. He was a devoted husband and loving father and loved being surrounded by family.
A visitation will be held on Sunday April 26th from 5:00 to 8:00pm. There will be a rosary and sharing of memories. Funeral service will be on Monday at 10:00am followed by burial at the National VA Cemetery at 11:30am.
