Joe Jack Rose passed away January 21, 2022 at the age of 92. He was a wonderful husband, father, courageous police officer and loved by so many. Born December 7, 1929 to Homer Edgar (Jack) and Irene Rose in Texarkana, TX.
Joe Attended Houston public schools; graduating from Charles H. Milby High School in 1949. Joined the U.S. Navy in 1950 during the Korean War; served on the USS Namakagon, the USS Laertes, as a Master Diver, and the USS Luzon. Honorable discharge in 1954. He Married Patricia Ann Rose, April 17, 1955, in Houston, TX. Joe worked for Houston Belt & Terminal Railroad as a clerk until joining the Houston Police Dept in 1958. While on the police force, was assigned to various departments; motorcycle patrol, radio patrol, criminal intelligence, traffic and helicopter division. After retiring from HPD in 1983, served in the Harris County Constable’s Office, Precinct 1. Retiring fully in 1986, moved to Lake Livingston, TX, where he enjoyed his pets, fishing, visiting with neighbors and maintaining his acreage. He was a member of Houston Retired Police Officer’s Association.
Joe is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Patricia Rose; daughter, Crystal Vickers; and great-granddaughters, Abigail and Hannah Jones.
Joe is survived by daughters, Pam Jones/Bruce and Janice Beale/Randy; grandchildren, Ray Ellis Vickers, Keith Jones/Lindsey, Kenny Jones, Austin Vickers/Lisa, Brandon Vickers/Suzanne, Rachel Hite/Tanner, and Dana Beale; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Jones, Harper Hite, Mason Jones, Hadden Hite, Charlotte Vickers, Braelee Vickers and Cora Vickers.
Serving as Pallbearers are Keith Jones, Kenny Jones, Austin Vickers, Brandon Vickers, Bruce Jones, Randy Beale.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity in memory of Joe Rose.
