Joe Ruben Lombraña

Joe Ruben Lombraña, 79 – beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, uncle, brother and friend was born on January 13, 1943, in San Martin, Coahuila, Mexico. He passed away after a lengthy illness surrounded by his loving family on February 15, 2022, in Houston, Texas.

He began his career working in the produce department at Belden’s Grocery Store and eventually became the store manager. Continuing, his strong work ethic and dedication led him to become the owner and distributor of Selecto Foods Mexican Products until his retirement in 2010. All this was possible with the love and support of his devoted wife, Antonia Lombraña.

Joe enjoyed gardening and keeping his yard perfectly manicured throughout his life. He also enjoyed

traveling, mariachi music, dancing, air shows, playing cards, watching sports, reading about history and

aerospace, movie date nights with his wife, spending time with his loving children, grandchildren & greatgrandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Benito Lombraña, Virginia Fernandez Lombraña, Manuel Galvan,

Florencia Galvan de los Santos, his twin brother Jose Roberto, brother Manuel Galvan, sister Elida

Gonzalez and grandson Roman Anthony Melendez.

Joe is survived by and will be profoundly missed by his devoted and loving wife of 57 years, Antonia Guerra Lombraña. Together they raised four daughters: Cynthia Salinas, Sandra Mireles (Albert), Cathy Villarreal (Bobby) & Jo Ann Melendez (Mark).

He is also survived by his brothers & sisters, Jose Maria Lombraña (Dora), Margarito Galvan (Bertha),

Sergio Galvan (Angelita), Ernesto Galvan (Sylvia), Heriberto Galvan (Ramona), Juana Alicia Galvan

(Hector), Leticia Galvan (Juan), Graciela Galvan (Cecilio †) and his sister-in-law Yolanda Galvan Muzquiz

as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Grandchildren: Adriana & Christopher Salinas, Matthew Mireles, Robby (Apryl), Cierra, Camryn & Callie

Villarreal, Samantha Castillo, Aaron, Ovidio, Roman (†) & Benicio Ruben Melendez.

Great-grandchildren: Miliana Salinas, Demi Mireles, Tyler, Tayler, & Tenley Villarreal & Michael

Melendez.

A visitation for Joe will be held Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A rosary service will occur Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A funeral service will occur Friday, February 25, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A graveside service will occur Friday, February 25, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.
