Joe R. Guzman, 91, passed away on November 9, 2017 in Vicksburg, Mississippi. He was born March 6, 1926 in Houston, Texas. Joe is preceded in death by his wife, Alice Guzman and parents, Jesus Guzman and Angelina Reyes Guzman; siblings: Manuel Guzman, Gilbert Guzman, Elias Guzman, Juan Guzman, Benny Guzman, Beatrice Carrasco, Alex Sandoval, and Elidia Montoya. Left to cherish his memory, children: Josie Kackley & husband Charles, Mamie Charles, Merlinda Rivera, Joe E. Guzman, Jesse Guzman; sister: Anita Villarreal; grandchildren: Emens Ramirez, Eric Cisneros, Rudy Ramirez, Filiberto Contreras, Stan Ramirez, Leopoldo Rivera, Jesse Lee Guzman, Serena Friedman, Tonya R. Nevels, Amanda Nevares, Adrian Guzman; along with several great grandchildren. Visitation for family and friends will begin on Friday, November 17, 2017 from 10:30am to 1pm. Funeral service to begin immediately at 1pm at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway Houston, Texas 77039. Interment to follow in Brookside Memorial Park.
