Joe was born to Guadalupe Cantu and Maria Juares, July 21, 1929, in Houston, Texas. He was happily married to Olivia Hernandez for 41 years and they resided in Houston, Texas. Together they raised 5 children.
He was preceded in death by Olivia Cantu (wife) and is survived by his 5 children, George Cantu (Rose), JoMarie Sauceda (Sotero, deceased), Sylvia Ramos (Paul), Linda Celaya (Phil) and Joe Cantu Jr (Irma). He was blessed with 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
He retired from his last employment, M.D. Anderson Hospital, at the age of 75. He was a church member at Templo Bethel.
A visitation service is scheduled for Tuesday December 20, 2022 at Forest Park Lawndale, Grand Chapel from 5-9pm with an evening service at 7pm, officiated by Pastor Pedro Aguirre.
On Wednesday December 21, 2022 a service will start at the Grand Chapel. Family and Friends please arrive at 9am. A Committal Service will follow.
