JoAnn Watson Romero, 74, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully, with her husband by her side, on Wednesday August 3, 2016 after a lengthy battle with COPD. She is preceded in death by her parents, Anona Everard and Carl Watson; step-father, Joseph Everard; brother, Van Watson; sister, Janet Marie Watson; and daughter, Diane Stocklein. JoAnn is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Earl Romero; sons Leroy and Michael Sparkman; sister Carol Corbin and husband, Dave; granddaughters, Crystal, Amy, Shannon, and Brianna; grandsons, Darian and Dalton; son-in-law, Darrel Stocklein; 9 great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
Born in Dallas, Texas, JoAnn had a passion for fishing, vacationing at the beach, and spending precious time with the people she loved. Her family was her greatest joy, her finest accomplishment, and now her legacy. As much as her husband, children, and grandchildren loved her, JoAnn loved them twice as much. Throughout her illness, JoAnn was blessed to have the people she loved most care for her and they were equally blessed to have had her support throughout the years.
JoAnn’s love and dedication were a gift to those that knew her and she will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she has touched.
A small memorial service, celebrating JoAnn’s life, will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2016 from 7:00 to 9:00pm at Forest Park Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Avenue, Houston, TX 77023.
