Joan S. Oster

She was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts on September 26, 1937. She graduated from Bay Path College in Longmeadow, Massachusetts. Joan had a long career in accounting, retiring from Mitsubishi/Caterpillar in 2009. Joan and her husband David spent their retirement years traveling and enjoying time with their family. Joan was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Houston. Her passions were flowering plants, bargain searching, pinot noir, and red shoes.

She was predeceased by her parents, Marian and Peter Sadowsky of Springfield, Massachusetts.

Joan is survived by her husband of 63 years, David Oster. She leaves behind her loving children, Mary Beth Miller and her husband Paul Finken; and Mark Oster and his wife Kathryn. She will be greatly missed by her five grandchildren (Nathan and Jason Miller; Noelle, Sydney, and Spencer Oster) and two great-grandchildren (Oliver and Penny).

A memorial service will be held at 10 am Thursday, December 10th at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Houston. Burial will take place at 3 pm Thursday at Memorial Oaks Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Meals on Wheels, Houston.
