Jo Ann Huckabay

She was married to the love of her life, Johnny Lee Huckabay for 37 years and they had four children. Jo Ann was passionate about family and could always be counted on to lend an ear. Everyone always looked forward to her Easter gatherings. Jo Ann loved working in her yard, cooking for family and friends, shopping with her longtime friend Mary and making teacakes with her grandchildren.

After the death of her husband, son and mother she was diagnosed with cancer in 2004 but she always remained strong for her family and never lost faith. No matter what trials she was going through, she was always there to be a loving Mama, Nanny, Great Nanny or Aunt Jo Ann.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her husband, son Johnny Allen, parents, sisters Dolly, Linda and Ellen and brothers Wayne and Bubba. She is survived by her children, Ronda Armitage, Lisa McGee & husband Bubba, and Jerry Huckabay. Sister, Janie Lawrence & husband ST. Sister-in-Law Lena Burkhalter. Grandchildren Kelly, Duane, Megan, Brandon, Dylan, Amber, Johnny Wayne, April, Krystal and Candice. Great Grandchildren Mayzie and Archer, Lacie, Kynlee and Greyson, Johnny, Gavin, Langden and Hayden.

A visitation for Jo Ann will be held Tuesday, November 9, 2021 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at 2:30 PM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A burial will occur Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
