Jimmy Dale Simpson was born in Waco, Texas on Monday, October 30, 1939 to parents Everett & Phoebe (Boss) Simpson. He passed away at the age of 75 in Houston, Texas on Monday, December 22, 2014 with complications of heart disease and diabetes.
Jimmy Dale grew up in McGregor, Texas where he attended the First Christian Church and McGregor High School, graduating in 1959. He studied at Tarleton State College and Southwest Texas College. In 1962, he joined Army National Guard and proudly served his country until 1968. Jimmy Dale came to Houston in 1964, where he went to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. and retired after thirty-five years of service in 1999.
Jimmy Dale leaves behind his loving wife of fifty years, Bonnie Dell Riley Simpson; their sons, Randall Dale, Jimmy Joe and a daughter, Jennifer Simpson Castaneda, all of Houston. He is also survived by his granddaughter, LaRonna Simpson Bright and great granddaughter, Madisyn Crimmins of Englewood, Colorado; his sister, Jane Simpson Busby of Kingsland, Texas and so many other loving relatives and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Everett "Buddy" Simpson and Jack L. Simpson, and sisters, Gerry Simpson Grubbs and Corrine Simpson McKinney.
Jimmy Dale was always giving of his time and skills to help anyone that would ask him. He will be greatly missed by all the lives he touched in so many ways.
Family and friends will gather at a service to celebrate this wonderful man's life in the chapel of Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road in Houston, at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2015.
