Born in Tampa, Florida he was the son of Marcia and Donald DeRouen. He attended Sharpstown High School and later graduated from Texas A&M University Corpus Christi with a bachelor’s degree in Education. Jimmy also earned two Master’s degrees from Lamar University in Theatre Arts and Special Education.
Jimmy found his passion in the arts, through performing, teaching, directing and inspired thousands of students to find and spread their wings. He will be remembered for his dry humor, colorful personality, and the love he shared with all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Corinna DeRouen, and his two children, Brandon DeRouen and Jordan DeRouen. He will be missed by his sisters, Jenny Elkins and Misty DeRouen, many cousins, friends, and students.
The graveside service will be held on November 22nd, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Emanu El Memorial Park located at 8341 Bissonnet St, Houston, TX 77074.
