Mr. Jimmy Lee Cantrell went to be with the Lord on September 21, 2012. He lived in, and around, the Houston area for more than fifty years. He was an active member of Bellaire Baptist Church, Sharpstown Baptist Church and most recently a deacon and usher at Sugar Land Baptist Church. Jimmy, or Jim as his friends called him, was born on December 7th, 1934 in Pampa, Texas. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Cantrell, moved to Ranger, Texas where Jim graduated from Ranger High School. While at Ranger High School he met his sweetheart of 57 years, Martha Lee Harris Cantrell. Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Cantrell were active members of the Ranger Exes. They have a son, Brian Cantrell and wife Kelley and a daughter, Sheryl Cantrell Adamcik and husband Steve. They are blessed with six grandchildren, Clifton Adamcik, Stacie Adamcik, Travis Cantrell and wife Bryanna, Kevin Cantrell, Rachel Cantrell and Sarah Cantrell. Jimmy worked for the Texas Pipeline Company, a subsidiary of Texaco, starting in June 1955. In 1993 he retired from Texaco after a thirty-nine year career with the company. Jim enjoyed traveling the world. He was able to go to The Holy Land and Europe. He enjoyed golf with his buddies and his family. Some great memories were made on the golf course. Jimmy helped fill food request at a local food pantry. In spite of hardships from his illness Jimmy lived well, enjoyed life and above all loved his family. Donations can be made to Sugar Land Baptist Church, for missions, in memory of Jimmy Cantrell.
