When Jimmy was a very small child alone with his mother and older siblings relocated from Natchitoches, Louisiana to Houston, Texas. He attended Crawford Elementary and E.O. Smith High School. He later became a Professional Laborer and Carpenter for many years.
Jimmy was a member of The Darien Loop Church of Christ under the leadership of Minister Roy H. Beck up until his illness.
He was a caring, loving and honest person. He enjoyed spending time with family, friends, shooting pool, playing the slot machines and debating with anyone who wanted to debate with him to ensure is point was made.
To Jimmy’s family and friends, he was known as “Big Jimmy”. He transitioned from this life on Saturday, July 22, 2023.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents Grant and Louise Brown, siblings, Ricky Chism, Jurline Brown, and Johnny Brown.
He leaves to mourn his transition: his only child Jimmy Wayne Brown Jr (Karona); five grandchildren, Jayson, Kajla, Miracle, Jaylon, and Ceniyah Brown; six bonus grandchildren, Keon, Tyrin, Tyrell, Kentrell, Kendrick Prophet and Zachary Osborn; one aunt Norien Robinson; siblings, James Brown, Elnora Graham, Thomas Brown, Corrine Jones, Edward Brown, Mary Braxton (Darrell), Janice Chism, Johnny Chism Jr, Cynthia Chism, Mavies Chism and Jennifer Clebourn (Julius).
One devoted niece Michelle Barlow (Ellis) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
