He was born in Houston, Texas on April 16, 1938. Jim attended Houston School District then joined the United States Army serving 4 years, which included a hitch in Germany.
He was married to Patricia Ann Wright Wilson for 58 years.
Jim had a career in sales, retiring after 30 years, for Black and Decker as Assistant Manager.He was a lifetime member of The American Legion Post 586, and had a passion for woodwork, collecting coins, guns, eagles, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was survived by his son Jimmie Oliver Wilson Jr. and wife Lisa Wilson of LaPorte, Texas, daughter Connie Leigh Wilson of Houston, Texas, 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and siblings James Morgan Wilson and wife Sherry Wilson of Carthage, Texas and Alvis Glen Wilson and wife Gayla Wilson of Gary, Texas.
Jim was proceeded in death by his wife Patricia Ann Wilson, daughter Tresa Ann Wilson, father Ulman Hickman Wilson Sr., mother Mattie Belle Wilson, brothers Joe Lee Wilson, Frankie James Wilson, Donald Wayne Wilson, Ulmer Hickman (Pinky) Wilson Jr., and sister Shirley Louise Coldiron.
Jim Wilson's services will be held at American Heritage Funeral Home.
The visitation will be held Thursday February 15, 2016 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Funeral service will be Friday February 26, 2016 at 8:45 a.m. followed by interment at the Houston National Cemetery.
