Jimmie Jean La Nier Watson, 83, of Houston, passed away on Tuesday August 23, 2016, in Houston. She was born on February 12, 1933 in Waldron Arkansas to Herbert and Juanita (Burnett) La Nier. She married James Walker Watson on July 9, 1955, in Big Spring, Texas. Jimmie was an avid animal lover, a world traveler, and a beautiful artist. She was a member of Memorial Drive Methodist Church.
Surviving relatives are daughter, Susan Watson Duncan, of Houston; three grandchildren, Vicki Wilkins Allums and husband Trey of Marshall Texas, Olivia Marie Oppenheim and Mitchell James Oppenheim of Houston Texas; great grandson David Stone Allums of Marshall Texas; cousins John Burnett Fitzpatrick, Ann Eagleburger, Phillip David Fitzpatrick and wife Edna, Jay Burnett III, Jan Burnett, Farah Fitzpatrick Welch and Chad, John David Fitzpatrick and Wife Nicole, Ivy Johnson, Justin Craig Fitzpatrick, Ryan Daniel Fitzpatrick and Wife Adri; great niece Anna Elizabeth Welch; great nephews James Phillip Welch, Hudson Luke Fitzpatrick, Caden John Fitzpatrick; and son in law Roger Dudley Oppenheim. Preceding her in death are her parents; daughter, Linda Watson Oppenheim; great-aunt Anna Jean Fitzpatrick.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Mitchell James Oppenheim, Roger Dudley Oppenheim, David Stone Allums, Joe David “Trey” Allums, James Phillip Welch, Ryan Phillip Fitzpatrick. Memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 3 at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, September 2 at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family invites you to donate to the Ironwood Pig Sanctuary.
