James (Jim) was born in Memphis, Tennessee to Calvin and Mary (Tommie) Noland. After graduating from Sea School, Jim was one of the four men chosen to be an Admiral’s Orderly for the United States Marine Corp. Before his retirement, he was involved in many roles at Cameron for over 30 years. Jim was an avid golfer, hunter, and enjoyed travelling with his family. He was a kind, thoughtful, and beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be missed dearly.
His spirit is carried on by his wife and love of his life for 58 years, Velma Fischer Noland; children; Kay Noland and Debra Roncancio; grandchildren; Tiffany (Andrew) Johnson, Andria Roncancio, and Chelsea Roncancio, and an extended family of relations and friends from every walk of life. He is predeceased by his parents and sisters.
Visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Tuesday, August 25, 2015, at Heights Funeral Home, 1317 Heights Blvd. in Houston, 77008. The funeral will be held at 10am on Wednesday, August 26, in the chapel of Heights Funeral Home. Graveside services and interment will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, where Military Honors will be shared by members of the United States Marine Corps and the Veterans of Foreign Post #8790 Honor Guard.
