Jim Barron, age 76, passed away, Tuesday, May 31, 2016. Born in Bastrop, Texas, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, who owned Jim Barron Custom Paint for many years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Julia Orosco Haines; father, Adolph Barron; mother and father-in-law, Carmen Contreras and Florentino Contreras, Sr.; half-sister, Margaret Barron; and half-brother, Adolph Barron. Survived by wife of 53 years, Olivia Contreras Barron; daughter, Silvia Barron Garza and husband Adam, Sr.; sons, Jimmy Adolph Barron and wife Julie, Adam Orosco Barron and wife Amanda Eddins, Wesley Glenn Barron and wife Melissa, and Braulio Toledo and wife Margaret; grandchildren, Adam Garza, Jr. and wife Claudia, Bianca Ann Garza, Jimmy Adolph Barron, Jr., Julia Elizabeth Barron, Adam Jay Barron, Angelica Marie Barron, Aaliyah Eddins, Johnathan Almanza, Monica Turner, and Theresa Turner; great grandchildren, Adam Garza III, Janelle Garza, Natalie Garza, Lawrence Turner, Alexander Campos and Belle Alexa Barron arriving soon; sisters, Lydia Pena, and Deborah Trevino; brothers, Frank Jiminez, Sr. and wife Linda and Sam Jiminez and wife Pamela; half-brothers, Freddie Barron and wife Elizabeth, and Eddie Barron and wife Dinora; sisters-in-law, Gracie Acosta, Evangelina Contreras, Leonora Carrizal, Aurora Contreras, Marie Arteaga, Gloria Garza, and Anna Chitty; brothers-in-law, Marcelino Contreras, Florentino Contreras, Jr., and Joe Lewis Contreras; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 6, 2016 at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, with a Prayer Service to be at 7:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 8150 Park Place Blvd., Houston, Texas 77017. Rite of Committal will follow at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery. A Reception will then be held at 1:30 p.m., American Legion Post 586, 708 E. Parker Rd., Houston, Texas 77076.
