Jesus Silva, 90 years old, of Houston, Texas, passed away on August 25th, 2021 after a courageous and strong fight with Covid Pneumonia. His last days were a symbol of his entire life. Strength, Heart, Love and Tenacity.
Jesus was born to Emilio Silva and Maria De Los Angeles Gonzalez, on January 8, 1931, in Santiago, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. He attended La Preparatoria de La Villa de Santiago. He married Elisa Silva on December 26, 1964, and they lived together in Houston, Texas. Together they raised five devoted children; Jesus, Juan Guillermo, Eddie, Jose Luis and Lorena (Lori).
Jesus is survived by his wife of 57 years: Elisa Silva; his children, sons and their wives Jesus & Norma Silva, Juan & Ale Silva , Eddie & Yarasel Silva, Jose and Mary Silva; and daughter and her husband Lorena & Enrique Araiza. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren that will cherish his memory and his love of family throughout their lives, Brandon Silva, Jose Silva, Dulce Silva, Alexi Silva, Marlina Silva, Montse Silva, Enrique Araiza, Andres Silva, Rebecca Araiza & Cristian Silva.
He was preceded in death by Brothers; Emilio Silva and Gerardo Silva and Sisters Brijida Silva, Josefina Silva, Juanita Silva & Fidelia Silva.
Jesus worked in the hotel and restaurant industry for almost his entire life both in Mexico and in Houston Texas. Some of his places of work included, Hotel Cola de Caballo, Brennan’s Restaurant and the Red Lion Restaurant. Jesus loved to meet new people and serve them the best way that he could. Service and dedication to his family and friends made him the cornerstone to all he met. Jesus finally enjoyed the “retired life” in 1993, where he enjoyed spending cherished time with his children and grandchildren. His biggest smiles and largest laughs were always around his 5 children and 10 grandchildren. He also enjoyed gardening and traveling with family whenever he and Elisa had a chance. Jesus lived a very active life throughout his 90 years and enjoyed every minute of it. He lived a simple life but rich in Love, Happiness, Courage, Strength, Intellect, Purpose and Health. Jesus leaves behind a legacy hard to live up to.
A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, September 1, 2021 from 9AM to 12PM at Grand Chapel, Forest Park Lawndale Funeral. Funeral Catholic Service will be at 12PM in the same location. Graveside service is scheduled will follow at 1PM at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. Address for all Services is: 6900 Lawndale St., Houston, TX 77023.
The family requests for the safety of all and especially Elisa, that everyone in attendance wear a mask indoors and be socially distant from others not in your immediate circle indoors. We also realize that this is the time that naturally everyone needs a hug. We ask that you please refrain from hugging the family during the services. We gratefully accept your presence as a warm hug to us all.
