

Mrs. Jessie Mae Witchert was born on May 3, 1927, to the late Arthur & Lela Hurman in Eufaula, Oklahoma. Jessie grew up in McKamie, Arkansas and was united with Mt. Zion Baptist Church at the age of 6 yrs. old. She departed this life on March 16, 2022.
Jessie graduated from L.A.F. Training school in Stamps Arkansas. She enjoyed life to the fullest. Jessie was a woman that never put her needs before anyone she loved, and she always tried to keep everyone around her happy.
In 1949, she united in Holy matrimony to the late Ora Witchert, and they moved to Detroit, Michigan where a son was born to this union Anthony Witchert and resided there for 30 years before moving to Houston, Texas in 1980 and United with Christ Presbyterian Church.
Jessie’s love for her family and friends will be cherished and her memories will be honored. She leaves to cherish her memory; One son, Anthony Witchert, of Houston, Texas, seven grandchildren, Betty Witchert, Sharon Witchert Paulette Witchert, Otis Witchert Jr., Trecia Witchert, Cameron Witchert and Allyssa Witchert and a host of Nieces & Nephews include Arthur Lee Hurman, Leslie Williams, Anthony Hurman, Gwendolyn Lockhart, Romell Eaton and a host of friends and family that she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her Father Arthur Hurman & Mother Lela Hurman. Her Husband Ora Witchert, four sisters Alma Berry, Odell Eaton, Farrie Hurman & Gertie Lockhart, and Brother Willie Hurman.
A visitation for Jessie will be held Wednesday, March 30, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Paradise Funeral Home, 10401 West Montgomery, Houston, TX 77088. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, March 30, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 10401 West Montgomery, Houston, TX 77088. A committal service will occur Wednesday, March 30, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 1:15 PM at Houston National Cemetery, 10401 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038.
