Jesse R. Ortiz, age 77, of Houston, Texas passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021. Jesse was born October 9, 1943 in Austin, Texas to parents Manuel Sr. and Carmen Ortiz. Jesse was a funny, loving, and caring dad, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was a member of PAGA golf Association. Listening to music and dancing were his passions.
Jesse was preceded in death by his wife Mary Anita Ortiz, his parents, and brothers: Julian Ortiz, Manuel Jr. Ortiz, Sylvester Ortiz, and Jose Ortiz. Left to cherish his memories are daughter Monica Ortiz Goettsch and her husband Steve, stepdaughter Debbie Vega and her husband Joe, son Jesse H. Ortiz, Jr., stepsons Javier Escamilla and Cruz Garza, grandchildren: Elijah Gabriel Ruiz, Alyssa J. Ortiz, Angelica J. Ortiz, Joe Vega, Lee Vega, Rey Vega, Cameron Garza, Amanda Escamilla, Matthew Escamilla; brothers: Frank Ortiz and his wife Rebecca, Robert Ortiz and his wife Rosemary, Ernest Ortiz and his wife Carmen.
Services will be held Friday, January 22, 2021 at Brookside Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 2:00 p.m. The funeral will begin promptly at 2:30 with the interment to follow immediately in Brookside Memorial Park.
