Jesse was the youngest son born to Jesse Edwards Sr. & Opal Edwards on October 3rd, 1928 in Houston, Texas. The family nickname for Jesse when he was growing up was ‘Sonny’.
As a young boy he loved to race race cars. Jesse joined the Army after high school and was deployed to Germany during World War II. When he returned home he met the love of his life Lucille Coury. They built a wonderful life together which included bringing their daughter Karen and son Stephen into the world. Jesse concluded a 30+ year career at Brown Oil Tools and was Red Adair’s go to part manufacturer when Red was dealing with an extremely difficult oil fire. In Jesse’s late years he truly cherished his time spent with family and his dog, Cookie. Along with watching 'Dancing With The Stars'.
Jesse was preceded in death by his parents Jesse Edwards Sr. and Opal Edwards, his siblings Marygrace, Kenneth and Jewel. As well as his beautiful beloved wife Lucille Edwards.
Jesse is survived by his daughter Karen Trueblood and her husband Michael Moore, his son Stephen Edwards, and his granddaughter Rachel Trueblood and her fiancé Jesse Seeger.
We will forever cherish our memories of Jesse, whose warmth and kindness left a mark on us all. He leaves behind a legacy of tender love and commitment to family and friends, and we are forever grateful for the role he played in all of our lives.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at The Nest at Scenic Hills for the care and compassion they showed Jesse in his final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend his funeral services on Saturday October 5th, 2024 beginning at 11am at Forest Park Lawndale located at 6900 Lawndale St. Houston, TX 77023
